MARK 1:35

35  Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Have you ever noticed that some well known sayings rub us the wrong way because they're so true?  For instance, "You always have time to do the things you consider important."  Those words have a way of reminding us that we choose to do while avoiding others that we probably should do.


That's what makes Jesus' early morning meetings with his Father so impressive.  Jesus could have slept in, or he could have risen early to get a jump on the day's activities.  But Jesus knew something that each of us must learn:  Nothing is more important than time spent alone with God.
