Hast thou not known? hast thou
not heard, that the everlasting
God, the LORD, the Creator of the
ends of the earth, fainteth not,
neither is weary? there is no
searching of his understanding
(Isaiah 40:28).
Isaiah's task was difficult: to
minister to a depressed people. He
had to convince them that the
everlasting God cared about them.
Were they about to give up? God
never faints.
Were they tired in battle? God
never gets weary.
Were they at wit's end? God's
understanding is unsearchable.
Were they weak? God imparts His
strength to those who trust Him.
Were they depending on their own
strength? They would surely fail.
And God has not changed. The
everlasting One still takes care
of His own
Wava Campbell has expressed this
in her poem:
SOLACE
God weighs your grief and
heartache;
He has an accurate scale;
He knows about your burdens
To every last detail.
God measures all your trials:
A perfect rule has He;
He knows about your problems
Whatever they may be.
So come and lay your weary heart
Upon the Holy One,
And He will give you perfect rest
Through Jesus Christ His Son.
