"I Prayed
Committing My Life to Christ"
What does this mean to me?
You are saved and have eternal life!
When you receive Jesus as your Savior, you will
never be punished for your sin. As a child of God you will live forever in Heaven.
"I give unto them eternal life;
and they shall never perish."
The Bible says: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." John 1:12
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the
new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17
You will have new desires. You will want to know more about Him, learn to please Him, and begin telling others about Him. You can know more about God by reading His Word, "The Bible." You can talk with Him in prayer. You can find someone and tell them about the Lord Jesus Christ and how He gave you a clean heart. This is how to become strong in your faith.
What do I do if I mess up?
If you sin after you receive Jesus Christ as your Savior the Bible says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Pray to Him and confess to Him the thing or things you did wrong. He will forgive you.
1) Read the Bible daily. *Begin with the book of John.
2) Pray. Talk to God daily.
When temptation comes, and it will,
here’s the most powerful prayer I know of. It’s a prayer every Christian should
have memorized so completely that it’s on the tip of the tongue at any given
moment. This is the prayer.
“In the name and through the blood of the
lord Jesus Christ, Bind satan in my mind, will and emotions. Don’t allow satan
any aid or benefit from any false reasoning in my
mind.
3) Fellowship. The difficulties of living as a Christian in a sinful world are many. It is essential that you seek other sincere, Bible-believing Christians to help you sustain your resolve. Both individual Christian friends and a solid, Bible based Christian church are essential.
4) Tell Someone else. Take a stand for Jesus Christ. Tell others about your new found faith.
