From the Left that wants another Vietnam....(moveon.org) Hi Everyone, ...there is some shady things going on in Washington that we should do something about. I'm sure some of you know about MoveOn.org, (www.moveon.org) and what they are trying to do. For those of you that don't I wanted to introduce you to them. At least that way if you choose to get involved you can. Here is a recent letter they sent out for people to urge their congressmen to get behind.
Dear friend, The President took the nation to war based on his assertion that Iraq posed an imminent threat to our country. Now the evidence that backed that assertion is falling apart. If the Bush administration distorted intelligence or knowingly used false data to support the call to war, it would be an unprecedented deception. Even if weapons are now found, it'll be difficult to justify pre-war language that indicated that the exact location of the weapons was known and that they were ready to deploy at a moment's notice. With a crisis of credibility brewing abroad and the integrity of our President and our foreign policy on the line, we need answers now. Rep. Henry Waxman has introduced legislation to create an independent commission to investigate the Bush administration's distortion of evidence. Please ask your Representative to pledge his or her support at: A President may make no more important decision than whether or not to take a country to war. If Bush and his officials deceived the American public to create support for the Iraq war, they need to be held accountable. Except for the Gas centrifuges with full detailed plans to create weapons grade plutonium, the artillery shells capable of delivering bio/chemical agents, the mobile bio weapons labs, the mass graveyards and dungeons of thousands and thousands of tortured/murdered political prisoners, and more of everything likely to be found buried and hidden throughout the country, the inaccurate intelligence regarding Iraq trying to buy Uranium from Nigeria was not the primary reason for war with Iraq. Additionally if WMD's were destroyed prior to the invasion Saddam Hussein could have verified that to the world quite easily. If they were moved or destroyed it will be harder to find WMD's or traces of them. The UN's Hans Blixt (ret) is on record saying there were, in Iraq and manufactured by Iraq, literally thousands of liters of high-grade anthrax and other chemical agents that no one can account for. This allegedly bad British intelligence from Nigeria (which Britain claims IS accurate) may provide some traction for an attack on President Bush, but, unfortunately, inaccurate military intelligence.... like sending cruise missiles into aspirin and baby formula factories in the Sudan, (courtesy of President Clinton) happens. And every attack on Bush, every congressional committee formed to hammer on the intelligence community, and every chant that the Iraq war was "illegal," tells every murderous Iraqi underground member that killing GI's they kill brings them one step closer to booting out the Americans.
