1Now about the collection for God's
people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. 2On the
first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money
in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no
collections will have to be made.
=======================================================
Giving to the Lord is to be a planned part of
our lives, not something that happens haphazardly. In this passage
Paul said that our giving should be characterized by two things.
First, it should be regular. He urged believers to give set aside
money on a weekly basis. second, it should be in keeping with our
income. The more a man gives, the more he should give to the Lord.
As believers, our financial gifts may not
be equal, but they should represent equal sacrifice. Ask God how
much he wants you to budget for your church's ministry and for the work of
God's kingdom. And then obediently respond to his leading.
