TODAY I LOOK BACK OVER MY LIFE
Today I look back over my life. At a very young age I accepted God as my Lord and Savior. It was at a revival out in the country at Victor. I was baptized in a pond by Brother James.
The years came and went. Never did I realize what it meant to be a truly God fearing Christian until I was about 15 years old. Then I knew there was truly a living God and he cared for and loved me.
Growing older I learned so much as I talked with my mother. She would read me the bible and pray with me. Her mother was a fine Christian lady and died at a young age of heart trouble. I never knew her but I heard many things about her and her work with the church.
Then I got married and began a family. Oh how I realized I needed God in my life to help direct me in raising those children.
I had a dear friend named Laverne. She was good to teach me how to read the bible and where to find things I knew nothing of. I joined a church named elm grove Baptist Church not knowing I was already a member of fbc in checotah. I went there 15 years.
All my children and my husband made professions of faith and were baptized. Both of our sone are ordained ministers. My oldest daughter wanted to be a missionary but she was never allowed to go over seas but she did lots of missionary work right here in our church of FBC. She worked for 17 years in the nursery.
Now my husband is really ill. I read my bible and have prayer each day. God has been so good to me and my family. He has answered many a prayer for me. I have a daughter who needs Christ. I have been on my knees for so long. She has not come around yet.
If I should die before that prayer is answered I will feel like I have missed my mission here on this earth. Pray with me that she will see that she too needs a loving father.
I have a precious daughter in law and feel like I have had a lot to do with her coming to Christ. She came to my home when she was pregnant with Hope. I sewed for her and treated her just like I would have wanted some one to treat my daughter. (she was from a very poor home). I clothed her, sent her to high school, and sewed for her and the baby for years. I even made shirts for Kenneth.
Now all those good christian deeds are being returned. Thank you Jesus. About half of my crew are church goers and each day I see things looking up for the family of Imogene Eddy.
I do pray that I am a inspiration to my children, grandchildren, and great grand chidren.
And I will gladly give God the praise for ever and ever amen.
