Exciting Developments on the Amazon
ARE YOU SEEING THE MIRACLE?

Plant a word of love heartdeep in a person’s life.
Nurture the seed with prayer and friendliness. Then
watch what happens. Sowing gospel seeds are like
planting a garden. You don’t know how it works; you
just know it does. But never underestimate the power
of a seed. Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and
you will harvest a crop of my love. Plow up the hard
ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the
Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon
you (Hosea 10:12 NIV).
Black Buffalo arrived in Leticia, Colombia, on January
5. He is an Indian of the Cowlitz tribe in
Washington. His ministry began in 1949 and has
carried him to 58 countries. Jean and I first met
this legendary missionary at a GALCOM convention in
Hamilton, Canada. He has had a lifetime desire to
work on the Amazon. You may recall he worked with us
here once before. I have just returned from the
Leticia airport to see Buffalo off to the United
States. Much has been accomplished, and much more in
the planning ahead.
Black Buffalo dedicated a Ticuna village church under
construction by Mission AMA. Then the three of us
traveled by “express” upriver to Caballo Cocha where a
three-day campañia (or city-wide crusade) was in
preparation by AMA. We visited a Yagua community,
Santa Rita de Gallinazo, where AMA has purchased an
ideally situated lot and construction has begun on
this rustic native church. On our travels on upriver,
we took buffalo to other sites all the way to Iquitos
and Nauto, Peru.
Exciting developments took place in Iquitos, Peru, a
city of 350 thousand. AMA held another campaña;
investigated an all-Christian radio station; and
established an AMA base in Peru under the leadership
of Hno. Manases del Aguila. From this new base, we
have access to innumerable tribal villages reaching as
far as the frontier of Ecuador. Expansion and growth
are in the offing. Your prayers have been answered
daily as we have been traveling the Amazon. Your
financial support has daily met our needs. You will
receive your share from this harvest of love.
Now we are back within the Casa Grande. We must catch
up with correspondence; pick up loose ends; and rest
up a bit. May God bless you.
