POSITIVE POSSIBILITIES

Am I positive? Are God’s promises sure? Could the
possibilities ever be greater? Jean and I travel
about Leticia, Colombia and Tabatinga, Brazil, on a
Yamaha four-wheeler. We also load the “moto” aboard a
canoe or river boat traveling to the villages of
Amazonas. Without the four-wheeler, we’re grounded.
And very recently our transport failed us. The
battery was dead. We charged it and it failed us
again after two days. This one was three years old
and needed replacing. Now we can depend on it’s
positive possibilities.
The Possibilities are as Positive as the Promises
God’s promises never fail. Our human frailness often
falters. When Saint Paul cried out for a physical
touch, the Lord replied, “My gracious favor is all you
need. My power works best in your weakness” (II Cor.
12:9 LNT). Paul’s response to this promise from God
was, “I am quite content with weaknesses and with
insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities” (v.
10). Our closest friends fail to support us. They
aren’t positively convinced.
This day, February 5, 2002, began in a optimistic
mood. We rose early and had our coffee on the veranda
as the new day was awaking. Together we studied God’s
Word and prayed about the staggering load that awaited
us. We got through yesterday’s necessities, and feel
confident of help for today. —At this point in this
writing, the power failed! I sat on the front veranda
and waited for the city power to be restored. God’s
promises never fail us.
The Future is as Bright as the Promises Divine!
Leticia power is restored. A Bogota man representing
the Secretary of Salud (health) drove in asking to
speak with Iván Porras, owner of the Casa Grande.
Problems are rapidly being terminated, and we can
begin building. Many BIG POSSIBILITIES are becoming
POSITIVE POSSIBILITIES! The “WHITE HOUSE” in Iquitos;
a Christian RADIO AND TV STATION also in Iquitos; The
building of eight COMMUNITY CHURCHES this year; and
the beginning of construction on THE
THREE-SISTERS-FRONTIERS.
