“ It Happened”
A True Story
I thank GOD that I am employed. In
today's world at 57 years old that seems to be a feat in
itself.
I work in an environment, as a supervisor, where there is
constant tension between managers and the production
employees. It had reached the point where I could not go to
work another day. That was 4 years ago. I am still there.
I left one night and on the way home I told GOD that I could
not go back, it is just too much for me. I just can’t do it
anymore. Nothing happened.
I got home and told my wife that I did not think I could go
back there again. I got “that look”. As I went to bed I said
a prayer and again told GOD I could not go back. Again,
nothing happened.
The next morning I got up fretting as I knew I was not going
to work as I could not do it. I said GOD I can’t do this.
Nothing happened.
As the morning progressed I packed my lunch,
got showered and ready for work. All the time saying I could
not do it. Again I said GOD I can’t do this.
Nothing happened.
I drove to work, pulled into the parking lot, parked and
Said God I can’t do this Please help me. Nothing happened
yet.
I said to myself I might as well go in. I reached my
department, walking to my office area, two employees voiced
their opinions and the day started like any other. Then my
supervisor called a department meeting. That was at least a
break, for now. Ten minutes into the meeting “it happened”.
GOD had taken away the huge weight that was on my shoulders.
He replaced aggravation with gladness. Through HIM, peace
entered my heart, GOD had answered my prayer. But, only
after, I asked HIM for HIS help.
I was telling HIM I could not do it. It is not about “me” or
“I” It is about GOD helping “me” or “I” or us. Christ
said ask and thy shall receive. I asked GOD and received HIS
supreme help.
Many prayers have been answered since then. Most on a very
timely basis, others are being answered as HIS will allows.
We cannot do it alone. GOD hears our every prayer.
"This is the
confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask
anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we
know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we
have the requests which we have asked from Him."
We need to ask, as while we are asking, our prayers are
being answered then before we are done we thank HIM for HIS
grace.
