I HAD A SEVER ASTHMA ATTACK

By Karron Cabrales

... For many years I lived for the devil.  I did drugs which led me to prison. The Lord was talking to me but I didn't want to listen . I had quit school in the ninth grade so I had nothing positive going for me but no one could tell me that. I was brought up in a Christian home but I didn't think it mattered then.

When I went to prison I became a different person.  I went to school and got my G.E.D. I worked hard to become a different person. Things started to change for me but I was still missing the most important thing. That was God.

I finally came home in 1997 after being there for 1 1/2 years. I started going to church with my parents. I was doing better but I still wasn't giving God my utmost attention. He stood by me all the time even though I didn't deserve it. Finally God said that's enough, you know sometimes He has to get your attention any way possible.]\

In May (MOTHER'S DAY) we were having a banquet at our church and I had a severe asthma attack. By the time the ambulance got there I was dying. They lost me twice on the way to the hospital. I was unconscious and on a ventilator for 5 weeks. God was not ready for me yet. He had his own plans for me.

I finally started walking with God instead of away from Him. As soon as I was able to go back to church I gave my testimony and I give it every chance I can . I even tell every on at work what God did for me and what He will do for them if they only let Him in.

Now I do the bulletins at church. I put passages on all the backs and I put in a lot of inserts for people to read. That is my way of being able to spread God love and promises. I'm a blest woman to still be here and even more blest to have God in my life. And I am blest also to have a loving church family behind me. They do not judge me for my past ,they love me for who I am and I love every one of them.

My father passed away 2 years ago and my mother and I live together and worship together. The Lord now has my father with him and one day He will have my mother and me. Always remember that God is always with you just waiting for you to open the door so He can come in. May God always bless you....

UP DATE June 26/2002

I wanted you to know that the Lord has blessed me in so many ways. I have my testimony on your site now but I want you to know what has happened. I have been divorced for 30 years and a few months ago my ex-husband called me. We were in a marriage that could not possibly work because we were doing drugs and we kept the Lord out of our lives. When I spoke to my ex-husband I told him right away that I was a Christian and I wish that he was. He told me that he had a dream to call me because he knew that I could help him. I told him that it was God talking to him and that I personally could not help him , only God could , but that I could pray with him , read the bible with him, and tell him how I feel and what a difference God had made in my life. Now he has asked the Lord to come into his life and do with him what he will. We talk long distance 2 or 3 times a week. He is very sick with emphysema. He needs a transplant but his body rejected the shots he had to take to be ready for the transplant.  But now, he isn't worried because he knows that no matter what happens he is in the Lords hands and one day we will both be in heaven with the Lord. I am so happy that he finally found his way. Now, I know why the Lord saved me that time I was in the hospital with my asthma. It is my honor to tell people about the wonderful works of the Lord and how much happier you can be when you decide that the Lord is the only salvation we have. I give God all the praise and the glory.
