Sometimes when I'm
finishing praying, I'll say to Jesus, "Would you say ‘hi’ to so and
so?" Is this wrong? I know that we should only pray to Jesus and
God, but I miss my friends and grandparents so much.
We can
understand your desire to send greetings to your loved ones in
heaven. Asking Jesus to do this for you is certainly different than
praying to saints or angels -- you're still praying to God. And God
receives all of our requests and grants them according to His
infinite design and wisdom.
We don't
know if Jesus greets your friends and grandparents for you, but we
don't see any scriptural reason why this would be wrong for you to
do. Jesus understands and sympathizes with how you feel. And we
rejoice with you at the thought of all believers in Christ from all
time being reunited one day in the kingdom of Christ. Then your
greetings to those loved ones who have died in Christ will be face
to face. |
