Have you ever
seen natural blue or pink snow? One
morning last week, I watched the sun
slowly coming up in the eastern sky.
The early morning sky was colored with
beautiful shades of blue and pink that
grew as the sun came closer to the
horizon. At one point the snow even
took on subtle shades of blue and pink
as it reflected the changing sky.
People usually
think of snow as being white and I
suppose it is most of the time, but
even white snow varies in its
coloration. Sometimes it's dull and
dirty looking. Other times it's so
brilliant that it hurts the eyes to
even look at it. If you've ever tried
to color or paint a picture of snow
you quickly realize the variety of
shades of white in any snowscape.
Occasionally the
snow will reflect the colors in a
sunrise or sunset and show blue, red,
orange, pink and yellow in virtually
infinite shades of each. The color is
generally very subtle, it isn't
something that's going to stand out.
You have to watch for it.
On a bright
moonlit night, the snow can resemble
fields of diamonds. On a dark night
with no moon, you might not even be
able to see it.
The working of
God is our lives is kind of like snow.
Sometimes it comes in forms we don't
expect and have to be really observant
to even see. Other times it is so
blindingly obvious that it almost
hurts to look.
In the really
dark moments, we might not even see
Him working. That doesn't mean He
isn't. Just like the snow slips out of
sight on a moonless night but is still
there, God is working even when we
can't see Him.
I don't know
where you are in your life right now.
Perhaps you're going through a
mountaintop experience and God is
almost blindingly clear. Perhaps
you're in a dark place and you can't
even see him. I do know that there
isn't a nanosecond of time where God
isn't working in the lives of those
who love Him. No one else ever makes
that kind of investment of time in
you.
If you know
Jesus, you are a child of God. He's
never going to abandon you. Nothing
can ever tear you away from Him.
My sheep
listen to my voice; I know them, and
they follow me. I give them eternal
life, and they shall never perish;
no one can snatch them out of my
hand. My Father, who has given them
to me, is greater than all; no one
can snatch them out of my Father's
hand. I and the Father are one."
John 10:27-30 NIV
In the dark
moments and in the light He's there
with you.
Until next time
rejoice because our Lord is faithful.
