What Will It Profit A Man?
Dear Saints of God:
Mark 8:36 "For what does it profit a man to gain the
whole world, and forfeit his
soul? Mark 8:37 "For what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
At first glance, we might say, "I wouldn't trade anything for my soul!" yet
there are those in the body of Christ that are doing that very thing. And you
say, "How?"
Because of the lifestyle that people have chosen, using credit cards instead
of cash, they have piled up thousands of dollars in debt and now have become
the "slave to the lender."
They now have to work two or even three jobs to make ends meet, or their
house of cards will come crashing down around them. They can no longer enjoy
the simple life, with their family and friends, because they have to work all
the time.
This now effects their relationship with the Lord, for they no longer have
the time or the strength to read the Word like they used too, and pray. They
no longer have the time or the energy to spend quality time in prayer and
communion with God, in sweet simple fellowship. They no longer have the time
or the energy to go to church on Sunday morning, Sunday night or Wednesday
night.
They are now trading their soul's for the money that they owe to everyone in
town. They cry out for people to pray for them so that they will somehow
receive a "financial blessing" from the Lord. But, the blessing will not come
to those who continue in the same pattern and lifestyle, without repentance
and willingness to want to change.
Half to two thirds of the body of Christ are in major debt and are slaves to
their lender. There is a major cry for freedom and liberty from their woes.
Many want out of debt, but, refuse to change their habits that have gotten
their into their predicament.
O church of the living God, we were called to be son and daughters of God,
not slaves in the promised land! If you want to be released from your
financial bondage, you will have to come to God and repent whole heartedly,
and then find financial counselors whose can and will help you work your way
out of this hole in which you are in. It will take time and energy to do it,
but, it can be done.
The word says, "Owe no man anything..."
In His name and for His glory, always,
Prophet Martin Young
