I WANT TO RECEIVE GOD'S FREE GIFT!

First, tell God you sincerely  desire a relationship with Him.

God is truly worth knowing.  He's the most wonderful person in the whole world.

God is good, loving, kind, generous, trustworthy, merciful, honest,  fair, and always true to His own.

Where else in the world can you find a person like that?

He wants to fill us with joy and to give us eternal life.

Second,  tell God that you are truly sorry for not loving Him, thanking Him, and  obeying Him and that you want to turn things around.  God has made us, provided for us, cared for us and protected us.  And He has done all this for our good so that we will be blessed.  We need to say, "I'm sorry" so that He can remove the barrier that is between us and God. The Bible says:

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Third,  He promises to forgive and forget your past sins and failures.  In fact the  Father sent his Son to earth in human form precisely so that he could die on the cross to free us from our sin.  Freed from sin, we are considered by God as sinless-as if we had never sinned. It's like starting over with Him.  Just say   "yes" to His offer of forgiveness.  That's all it takes. He has done the rest.  The Bible says: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Fourth,  Invite Him to come in and you step aside.  We need to step down off the throne of decision making in our lives and say, "Jesus, You take up residence in me. Teach me Your ways.  Show me how to live a life that's significant for you."

To summarize, there are four things to say as you start

talking to God.

Tell God you sincerely desire a relationship with Him.

Tell  God you are truly sorry for not loving Him, thanking Him  and obeying Him and  that you want to turn things around.

Accept  the gracious offer God makes to forgive your sins and give you new life.

Promise  to serve God to the best of your ability,

strengthened  by His Holy Spirit.

I'M READY TO TALK TO GOD.

Pray the following prayer or pray these thoughts in your

own words.

Father, I believe that You are a real person who thinks, feels, wills, and loves.  I very much want to get to know You and to have a relationship with You.  I'm truly sorry for all the  wrong things I have done.  I confess that I haven't loved You, thanked You, or obeyed You as I should have.  I really want to change.

I accept the forgiveness You offer me, and I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that He paid the penalty for my sins by His death on the cross.  I accept the new life You give me now through Your Holy Spirit.

I promise to serve You always, loving You, obeying You, and building Your kingdom.  I will keep on talking to You every day.

Help me to live for You.  I need Your grace, Your wisdom, Your guidance, and Your protection.

Thank-You for this new love relationship You have given me.  In Jesus name, Amen.
