Some body cares for you, Vern!
by Erwin Bourne—April 5, 2002
Dear Brother Vern,
CUMPLIAÑOS FELIZ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I figure you’ll be
61, right? You’re five years younger than myself, and
I’m 66! We are both old enough to know better! Well,
that’s too ambiguous. I’m glad we are both doing just
what we are. I liked what you wrote to me the other
day: “WOW! Life just keeps getting better!” God
makes all the difference!
Talkin’ about our age, here’s a couple of quips you
might like:
1. I started out with nothing, and I still have most
of it.
2. It is easier to get older than it is to get wiser.
3. If God wanted me to touch my toes, he would have
put them on my knees. (In my case, I just take off my
prosthesis!)
4. God grant me the senility to forget the people I
never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the
ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.
5. Funny, I don’t remember being absent minded….
6. Funny, I don’t remember being absent minded….
Before I just keep rambling on, Do give Miko a hug and
a kiss from both of us. Thank you for putting me on
the web. Would you make some suggestions of the types
of E-Essays you really need. Make some suggestions,
please. Writing is one of my weaknesses. I just love
to write. Maybe God has put me in a wheel chair here
at the Casa Grande in Leticia so I can have a part of
your ministry that goes around the world. You are
doing a great job! I’d like to help.
Enjoy your special day! “Let brotherly love
continue,”
