Three Steps To Restoration

GALATIANS 6:1-5

1Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. 2Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, 5for each one should carry his own load.

How do you confront someone who is "caught in a sin"? Here Paul gives us some specific guidelines.

!. Be "spiritual." Make sure you're properly connected with God so you don't fall as well. Also bathe your upcoming meeting with prayer.

2. Be gentle. Deal with the person the same way you would set a broken bone--with tenderness and care and with a view toward complete healing.

2. Be humble. Recognize that you too could be caught in a sin. Let the person know that you won't reject him or her because of the sin. And be there to help that person get back up; You'd want the same treatment if the tables were turned.
